Don't Let That Textured Wallpaper Scare Buyers Away!!

Home Stager with ReStyled to Sell Home Staging New Jersey

Here is an easy fix for that awful textured wallpaper. First you MUST have an EXCELLENT TEAM OF PAINTERS to pull this off. Upon my initial consultation, the realtor made sure to keep reminding me that SOMETHING had to be done with this bathroom. When I see wallpaper I most ALWAYS recommend removing it, but in some cases I suggest painting over it. The realtor FREAKED when I told her what my team was about to do and reminded me that on HGTV they suggest NEVER TO PAINT OVER TEXTURED WALLPAPER....but I JUST KNEW THIS WOULD LOOK AWESOME!

Here are the rules to follow if you are going to paint over wallpaper:

1. Make sure all seams are sealed and there are no curling edges anywhere

2. Have your painters spackle and sand out ALL SEAMS

4. LET DRY and then check for any visible seams

5. Add your fresh coat of paint - In this case we used Beach Glass by Benjamin Moore

Here are the befores and afters!

AHHHH, Isn't that MUCH BETTER?? This was one of the Realtor's favorite rooms and  when the brown and blue combination of colors are added it now takes this outdated bathroom right into a place that buyers would love...all for a fraction of the cost of replacing the bathroom. It is the job of a home stager to transform your home into a showplace that buyers can envision themselves living in. IF THEY WANT TO REMODEL down the road, they certainly will not mind living in the newly transformed bathroom until they can afford a new one.

Call on the professional services of a home stager before you list your house to sell. ReStyled to Sell Home Staging, we do the work so you don't have today for initial consultation at 732-995-3425, you'll be glad you did!

Phyllis - That really made a huge difference.  I have not painted over wall paper yet, my painter takes it off. It is something to think about if you are on a really tight budget.

I hate painting over wallpaper, but done very carefully and taking care of the seams ( #1 problem) - it can work.  And you now have the photos to prove it.

Nice clean and fresh look for a tired outdated space.

Amazing, the bathroom looks fabulous, I too, usually recommend that the homeowners remove dated wallpaper. Maybe I will change my mind, thanks for sharing.

Great photos!  I tell people these same instructions if they want to paint over wallpaper as opposed to removing it; most of the time they think these instructions sound like so much work they prefer to remove it.  You guys did a great job.

Is it possible that it looks better now than if you would have removed the wallpaper and painted? I think there's a high possibility! Love it!
