Friday Diary of a Charlotte Realtor® - DEC 22, 2017
WAIT! Have I missed Christmas?!
I've been busier than a cat with puppies this month - HOLY MOLY! I am typically quite busy in December anyway but, this one is going down in history as the busiest, without a doubt! January already has $3M+ on the books and that is also a record January for me. I may be coming up for air in July again this year!
I had 4 inspections this week, got 3 more buyers under Contract and signed a new listing at the lake last week that we had photographed this week and readying for the market on Tuesday (12/26).
I've got LOTS of marketing to accomplish this weekend and many presents to wrap too!
I had a 'fun' Closing earlier in the week with one of my favorite lenders with whom I've been working now for almost 14 years. My clients were a family of 6 and drove down from DC for the Closing with all kids in-tow! It was an exciting time for them and we were all thrilled for them to be staying in their new home that first night. I shared with them my 'secret' place to find the best pizza pie and they had a wonderful dinner, 'camping out' for their first night in their new home! I had the locksmith over at 9:30 yesterday morning to get their locks changed for them. Today was moving day and needless to say, they are quite anxious to finally get to wrapping thier Christmas presents!
This has been a week of deliveries all over Charlotte in between negotiating Contracts and attending inspections and Closings! Our office's adopted family was welcomed today and gifts given to children and parents alike. It was absolutely heartwarming to see the children completely thrilled with their new bikes and literally, a van full of gifts. My goodness, you'd think it was Christmas!
I continue to collect blankets for the Humane Society Charlotte's animal shelter and my foyer is once again, full of blankets delivered this week from clients and friends. I'm excited to have some help (in the form of adult children!) arriving shortly to help me deliver these to the shelter tomorrow!
Groceries and gifts are purchased but, not a thing has been wrapped except my pop-by gifts so, I've got some work to do this weekend.
For those who join me in celebrating the Birth of Christ our Savior, may yours be the merriest of Christmases!
Giving is never out of fashion. We often take for granted all that we have. Please give of yourself, whether it's time, lending an ear or a monetary donation. There are so many people who could use our help and even the smallest gesture or contribution is more appreciated than you can imagine.
Enjoy the hustle-bustle of the pre-holiday weekend ahead. May you and your enjoy every moment celebrating together!
