This has been an extremely busy year right up to December 14 when I climbed on my plane for Hawaii (vacation and business combined since I am a broker in both California and Hawaii). Even two days before I left, I listed another property, and got the photos done. My plan was to get it on the MLS right after I arrived in Honolulu--which I did--but in the meantime, a buyer saw my yard sign and it looks like they are the buyers.
Between then and now, Christmas Eve's Day, I've been doing what all real estate professionals do at this time of year, pay all the annual dues. Yes, being in real estate is expensive especially if you have brokerages in two states like I do. But I have no complaints, if you treat your clients right, you will get lots of welcome referrals. At least that's where most of my business comes from.
"So you are in Hawaii and not at the beach?"
Apart from a cold spell throughout the Hawaiian Islands for the last week, there just has not been time. Winding down 2017 took some of that time, while shopping for family during the Christmas rush including for two young grandsons took some time. Shopping online at the 11th hour--well, that's another story. Bought an incredibly wonderful gift for my daughter which was supposed to come Friday, December 22nd. You guessed it, they said we weren't in so they took it back into some "black hole" over Christmas and it won't be accessible until Tuesday, December 26. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. But that's another story and I won't be negative here. It is what it is. I should not have been swayed by that heavy discount Macy's offered at the last minute.
The other thing that has occupied my time is finding a way to get into the New Year 2018. This year I do want to celebrate with a big blow-out fun evening rather than falling asleep at 9 PM after the "apple" drops down at far off New York City.
What's the plan?
Ah, it's going to be a dozy but I won't write about it until it happens!! And it's going to be with another member of Activerain here in Honolulu so I have a witness. Yep, Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents and I are going to meet up with another friend and we are going to see what this town is made of on New Year's!!
So check in back here. Lots of photos are promised!!!
