The weather outside is not so frightful... indeed it's quite delightful!
It's been in the high 70s or maybe low 80s today so we decided to spent part of the day at Pine Island Beach in Weeki Wachee, Florida.
It's a smaller beach that's within a quick drive from Hernando Beach, Spring Hill, and Weeki Wachee, Florida. The beach is operated as a County park and there is a $5 per car admission with no time limit.
The water is shallow and the sand is white and clean. We were there at low tide and you can walk out for a long distance before you would even get knee high in the water. Obviously, during high tide, the water would be closer to the beach area.
The County just installed all new play sets for the kids and there are pavillions and restroom facilities at the park.
If you get hungry, stop in at Willy's Tropical Cafe, the food is freshly prepared and very tasty! I had a Mahi Mahi wrap and my husband had a burger along with some home made chips, it was delicious.
For things to do in Hernando County, check out Pine Island Beach not just on Christmas Eve but any day!
