For the last 18 years we’ve enjoyed a tradition with our grand-kids at Christmas of hiding the Christmas pickle ornament somewhere on our tree after all the presents have been opened (and the kids are safely ensconced in another room - no peeking).
I always thought it was a German tradition and over the last few years of reading up on the Christmas pickle ornament have learned it’s most likely a myth. It turns out probably an ornament salesperson, with a lot of spare pickle ornaments to sell, invented the legend of the Christmas Pickle!
It really doesn’t matter because the grand-kids have so much fun and always look forward to “finding the pickle!” This year I felt it was time to have 2 separate searches. Beckett and Hudson at 3 and 5 do better with their own search but loved helping their 3 older cousins on their hunt!
Hailey won this year in the older division category and Hudson won the little ones hunt! A good way to close Christmas Day with another memory making event. What did she win? Cash of course ..$50 big ones! Love these kids!
