What to Do with Your Used Christmas Tree in 2017
If you live in Clarksville TN and had a live Christmas tree, you may not know what you can do with it that is good for the environment. Good news is there is a park location in Clarksville where you can take your undecorated tree for disposal.
Montgomery County is sponsoring a collection site at Rotary Park located on Ashland City Hwy. (41A ByPass) 2308 Rotary Park Drive. Look for the designated location near the front of the park. This location will be receiving trees until February 3, 2018. After this time the trees will be used to make a rich mulch for park areas and trails. Rotary Park has miles and miles of trails that are used daily by hikers and walkers in the Clarksville/Montgomery County area.
You can also consider these other things to do with your used fresh cut Christmas tree:
Place the tree at the edge of your property so birds and wildlife can use is to weather a storm.
Place birdseed or pine cones around it to provide food for birds during the winter.
If you have a pond or lake sink the tree and it will become a fish habitat.
Remove some of the smaller branches and place as protection at the bottom of your shrubs. They also add nutrients to the soil.
A stipped trunk (with branches removed) makes a good landscape timber or erosion controller.
