How to get involved at The Rose Parade

Get involved and experience the magic of the floats before they make their debut in the 2018 Rose Parade. During the final stages of preparation! A variety of seeds, bark, fruits and vegetables, grasses and of course, flowers are being applied to the floats by experienced professionals as well as hard working volunteers.
 
 
 

HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN THE FLOAT DECORATING!

Community members and visitors are needed each year to decorate floats for the Rose Parade. Whether looking to participate as an organized group or individual, float builders are happy to have the help. All volunteer decorating opportunities are organized directly by the float builders. Please contact the float builders listed below for volunteer information:

 

Before and after the Rose Parade there are many activities such as float decorating, float viewing and post parade. On New Year’s Day, people from all over the world come to Pasadena to attend and participate in The Rose Parade.

12/29: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
12/30: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
12/31: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (Tickets will not be sold on-site 12/31. Advance purchase required.)
Kids 5 and under are free.

FLOAT DECORATING

Community members and visitors are needed each year to decorate floats for the Rose Parade. Walk-ins are welcome at most locations, though work is not guaranteed.  It is recommended to pre-register by visiting the float builders websites are calling directly. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to participate and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Opportunities are on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups must phone ahead to see if arrangements are possible.

FLOAT VIEWING

View a variety of fruit, seeds, bark, grasses, and of course, breathtaking flowers, being applied to the floats by the float builders and volunteers.  Advanced tickets are available for three public viewing locations.  Times are allocated for general public viewing, including tour operators. Order your tickets through Sharp Seating.Considerable waiting periods should be expected.

POST PARADE

The post-parade float viewing is a rain or shine event that will allow you to walk within feet of the floral and animated masterpieces parked along Sierra Madre and Washington boulevards. Allow at least two hours to view the floats with a walking distance of approximately 2.5 miles. Purchase tickets HERE

 

EVENT PIN PASS

The 2018 Event Pass Pin is an official pin sold by the Tournament of Roses. It will allow pin holders to gain access to various discounts including decorating places and post parade. Limited 500 pins for sale online and at the Tournament of Roses. January 1, 2018: 1 PM – 5 PM (last entry at 4 PM)

January 2, 2018: 9 AM – 5 PM (last entry at 4 PM; senior citizens and disabled vistors welcome 7-9 AM)

FREE SHUTTLE LOCATIONS & HOURS OF OPERATIONS:

Post Parade takes place in a residential neighborhood with almost no public parking or street parking.  It is highly recommended that visitors use shuttle options.

Pasadena City College |1570 E. Colorado Blvd. (enter off Del Mar Blvd. or Bonnie near corner of Hill Ave.)

  • January 1 & 2:  12:30 PM – 2:30 PM (final departure at 2:30 PM)

Rose Bowl Stadium | 1001 Rose Bowl Dr, Pasadena, CA 91103 Lot B

  • January 2 ONLY: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM (final departure at 2:30 PM)

*shuttles depart approximately every 5 minutes*

Love watching the Rose Parade on television.  I know that such a display takes lots of volunteers , organizations and creative participants to present such an event.  Im sure that your post regarding how to get involve in the Rose Parade will be quite helpful to many who have always to volunteer to help with the floats.
