I was out looking at property and running errands on the last day of fall in Carlsbad. It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day, in the high 60s, and I decided to take a few minutes for myself and enjoy a short walk at Terramar Beach. And it was the perfect day for a few photos!

This has become my favorite beach for a number of reasons; my younger daughter got married here 5 years ago, but it's also a particularly beautiful, and rather private, beach pretty much year-round. It's always changing, due to the shifting sands from the ocean, and erosion on the bluff from the winds.

Hi George Souto - there are people here year-round, especially surfers, but there are significant stairs to get to it and not alot of actual beach except when the tide is out, so it's pretty private...and different from the rest of the Carlsbad coastline.

It's just south of the power plant past Cannon Road with a fair amount of parking along the Coast Road, then a hike down the stairs (cross street with a light is Cerezo). Well worth a visit and a beautiful walk both north and south from this point especially when the tide is out and there is more beach.

And you can, James Dray , depending on your budget. It's a small communtiy and the views are wonderful. This is one neighborhood in Carlsbad (the other is in the Village) where there are a bunch of true oceanfront homes, typically starting around $3M. Right now all you can get is one priced at $7,595,000.
