We’re about ready to watch the ball drop and then position ourselves to begin the rat race of 2018. Yes, I’ll call it as I expect it to be. I’m the marketing agent, and it’s up to me to make the phones ring by homeowners with fresh new listings for us.
The majority of our listing calls originate from the offline method known as direct mail marketing with postcards. Oh, how I love those 4” x 6” messengers that deliver my little memos that successfully shake the fruit from the trees.
I’m going to be on a very healthy diet of that fruit in 2018. My style and methods will not be changed, but the frequency of my mailings will increase. Rather than mailing only once a month to the entire town of 7,650 single family homes, I will send two mailings during several months of the year.
The graphic will be replaced with a photo shot of Tammy and Andy that reflects the theme of the postcard. I’m a firm believer that when the method works well, continue to use it with nothing more than tweaks done.
The cost of postage will be increasing in January, and that means agents who participate in direct mail marketing will be reducing the number of pieces to avoid spending more money. They’re only thinking about the pennies and not the thousands they’ll miss because my postcard landed at the home they eliminated!!
I love to see the cost of postage increase. It always works in my favor!!!
Just another thought for the moment….
