In 2010, my son, Matt and my grandsons, Paul and Ryan came to visit us in Williamsburg for Christmas. The boys were ages nine and six at the time. I wanted to make sure that they had plenty of warm clothes since they live in south Florida. Matt had plenty of warm clothing having lived in North Carolina before moving to Florida. I bought the boys boots, hats, gloves and thermal underwear. Friends lent us warm jackets for the boys since they would have no need for them in Florida.

The picture above is of my daughter, Jamie and Ryan. In the picture below, Matt and the boys are standing in front of our dock just after the snow had started falling.

It started snowing on Christmas afternoon and it continued snowing until about midnight on December 26th. I heard the totals were anywhere between 16 and 18 inches which was probably a record for this area. Sunday afternoon the boys were playing in the front yard and the snow was already up to Ryan's knees.

Since the storm shut down the local airports, Matt and the boys stayed several days longer than originally planned.

There was a perfect sledding hill behind the parking lot of Jamestown High School which was about a mile from my house.

On Monday it was cold and gray, but Tuesday was clear and the weather warmed up so much that the boys were able to take off their jackets while they were sledding. They were using a lot of energy walking back up the hill with their sleds. We sledded all afternoon and everyone had a great time.

As we were leaving, Ryan asked, "Daddy, can we have Bubba Burgers for dinner?" Matt said, "I know that they are very hungry when they ask for Bubba Burgers."
Of course we all enjoyed the Bubba Burgers that we had for dinner that night.
