It's that time of the year, when many come up with New Year's resolutions that most will have forgotten about by the time Valentine's Day rolls around.
The intentions are good. The timing seems perfect. But resolutions are tricky. They only work when we set realistic goals, have an accountability partner or system in place and life doesn't get in the way. They don't work when we expect instant success, don't really have a plan and don't make them a priority.
Instead of New Year's resolutions why not "just" resolve to look at the next 365 days as 365 opportunities to do good and to be the best you you can possibly be. The choice is yours each and every morning. You get to make that decision to seize the day.
Each and every morning you get to decide that you'll make healthy choices today or that you'll practice self-care or that you'll be budget-conscious or ... pick whatever it is you would like to work on this year. You get 365 opportunities to do good and be better! And 365 opportunities to reflect on and celebrate your accomplishments.
If you want to make one New Year's resolution, make it about being mindful and aware of each and every day. Resolve to make each and every day count by choosing to do good and to be the best you you can possibly be. Resolve to not get so busy that you forget to live your life. Resolve to wake up each morning with a smile and a grateful heart about this new opportunity to do good and be better!
Here's to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2018 and 365 amazing days and opportunities!
Choose to make them count.
