Something ActiveRain does well is offer Members a challenge on how to promote growth and opportunities. Members decide if they would like to participate. This year, Debbie Reynolds has given us an opportunity to share 3 goals and a plan. I have attached links to recent posts which lays down the groundwork for my purpose:
My three personal goals include the following:
- Take control of my life
- Choose a direction that has positive consequences
- Take safe risks that are profoundly important for my success & well being
Why is this important?
Life is short. Sometimes it's easier to get busy helping others get their basic needs met than our own and suddenly, we realize our own lives are being cut short. It's time for me to take control of life and know what changes I need to make to achieve health, happiness, and the means to survive in a very expensive world to live comfortably in simple abundance.
Why did I select these goals?
To be honest, I live in a world of confusion and doubt. Because Fall is a season for change, I like to escape to find answers to my burning questions in places other than tourist destinations at popular times. Reflections for my 2018 Business Plan began in late September; early October.
Sometimes we don't always get what we want. I was expecting clear skies and a kaleidescope of colors at Glacier National Park. Instead wildfires were burning out of control; followed up by California massive wildfires. How ironic, two forces of nature, fires in the West and hurricane forces in TX and FL were causing creative destruction to people, places, plants, and wildlife.
Why are they important?
Anyone who knows anything about Feng Shui knows Ch'i is a natural energy that moves with wind and water. I do believe what was happening in TX, FL, MT, and CA is a wake-up call. It is calling me to take control of my life, clean up my act, and learn how to manage the difficulties I am experiencing in my own personal life which can be overwhelming for one person. Therefore, it's important to take safe risks, make the plunge into waters I haven't explored before, and take control of the remaining days I live on earth.
Keep a journal. Write down my hopes and dreams. Review my progress weekly. Measure success and failure. Document what's working and what isn't. Forgive myself for goals I couldn't achieve. Understand and accept that I am only one person. Celebrate my longevity with satisfaction knowing I did the best I could do.
"Though 'Fire and Rain" is very personal, for some
people it as a sort of commonly held experience...
and that happens with me. I write things for personal reasons,
and then in some cases it... can be a shared experience." --- James Taylor
