In real estate, there seems to be an ebb and flow, sometimes the year starts out slowly and then builds to a big finish as it did in my real estate brokerage in 2017.
Yesterday, when I drove Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents - a top listing producer in Sacramento - to the airport in Honolulu after taking a day off to celebrate the New Year here in Honolulu, she received a call for a new listing. When I got back to my office, I received a text from a faithful client to put another of their properties on the market.
Now that's what I like to hear on the first day of 2018! New business to start off the New Year!
It's too early to tell, of course, how this year will proceed, but I have several other clients either looking to buy property or getting ready to sell. None of them show hesitation, their time frame is based on their own personal lives not outside influences.
What do I plan to attract more business in my direction in 2018?
First, I have to look at where my real estate business has come from in the past--which is from referrals and current clients who give me all their business. You know who you are, and I will do whatever I possibly can to get your business once again in 2018.
Secondly, I want to focus on my "sphere" as we call it in the real estate business. You are those I am in contact with whether it is grocery shopping, going to the same events, retailers, those in the art community that is so dear to me. I really want you to consider me when you buy or sell property. And my job is to convince you that I am the right real estate broker for you. This I call "networking".
Thirdly, I want to EXPAND my current "sphere", new people to meet who may know of me, but I haven't had meaningful contact with them yet. That means developing strategies to make them aware of me and, hopefully, will consider me as their real estate broker. This is also "networking" although I may never actually meet them.
Fourth, I am considering signing up for some type of "lead generation". This I have never done before, but understand from my real estate buddy Elizabeth that there are one or two good ones out there. So why not.
Fifth, I plan to do some regular "print" advertising. Yes, chosen wisely and advertising consistently, gets my name out.
And finally, I am going to do a lot more with all my current websites, social media, etc. And that's probably a post in itself as I get into the year more.
