A Wild New Year's Eve in Honolulu with Hella
Honolulu on New Year's Eve is like no other and it was my pleasure to show fellow Activerainer Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents how to make a great couple of days out of it. As I have written about before, I first came to Waikiki several decades ago and have seen the tourism boom start when I was in public relations with my office at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, quickly followed by becoming the advertising and public relations director for Island Holidays Resorts with hotels throughout the Hawaiian islands. Yes, nowadays I have my real estate broker's license in Hawaii as well as California. But I never lose sight of all the fun that can be found here on Oahu at some favorite places that never change. Elizabeth describes our couple of days well.
Although it didn't dawn on me at the time I bought my house in Hawaii and Hella Mitschke Rothwell , a Hawaii broker, helped me do it, that we would continue to meet up in Hawaii. Last year, we got together for a day on Lanai. This year, Hella says, hey, come to Honolulu, I bought tickets for the Bill Maher show and snaggged us a last-minute hotel room.
You know, how can anybody say no to that? It's not like I'm doing anything over on Kona but working right now. Most people do not work over New Year's Eve. Which means it will quiet. It's not like I have a cat I need to take care of. I can simply set my security alarm, drive to the airport in Kona, park, and get on the plane. Just a 40-minute flight to Honolulu.
Besides, I haven't been up to watch the fireworks at midnight for decades. Well, we ended up doing a lot more than just watching fireworks. Thank YOU, Hella, for a wonderful and most memorable New Year's. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Exciting Things to Do in Honolulu Over New Year's.
