Here we go again. It seems I can't get away from it and nor do I want to.
I was standing on a street in Valencia Cove in Boynton Beach FL with buyers who had just had their offer accepted on a house.
A man came walking down the street, and the buyer stopped him. It was the usual, how do you like the neighborhood, where do you live, etc.
This gentleman was very accommodating and patiently answered the buyer's questions. As he was about to leave, I noticed he was wearing a baseball hat from New York City. Being from New York, my first question is always where are you from.
The gentleman responded: I am not from New York. My son lives in the village. I am from Baltimore. To which is always my next answer: I have a friend in Baltimore; perhaps you know her - Margaret Rome.
To which this gentleman replied: Yes, I know her and her husband Lee. We still have a piece of her artwork in our home. Please tell her.
Now I ask again: What are the odds of standing on a street in Boynton Beach and meeting someone who knows Margaret Rome? Apparently, they're pretty good because it's happened to me before. And I won a contest for it My 3 Firsts - All Roads Lead to Real Estate.
