Is The Danbury,CT Airport A Negative?

Located only 3 miles southwest of downtown Danbury is the municipal airport. It is a general aviation that has been opened since 1930, way before there was a much of anything going on the western side of Danbury. General aviation flights can range from gliders, parachutes to corporate business jets. In Danbury, I would stay it is mostly small private pilots and occasional business jets. There are no scheduled commercial flights.

The approach in and out of the airport appears to be quite challenging, due to the hillside of on three sides and the Danbury Fair mall on the other. Over the years, there has been a couple of unfortunately accidents.  There are several companies located on airport that provide jobs, and the buildings do help with the tax structure in Danbury.

Some people might find the noise of an occasional loud aircraft uncomfortable. I have not noticed a particular pricing difference for homes within closer proximity to it than others. In fact, a number of areas now often more more expensive housing prices than others in the town due to the them being larger sized homes compared to others,  set within well maintained neighborhoods of consistent values and zoning, and easy access to the regional mall and nearby corporate centers, as well as the NY state line. I've always within a two mile radius of the airport and never experienced a problem noise. There could be worse options for that site.

Jonathan residents near the airport should have taught about the noise before purchasing there, not after the fact.

The right Charlotte REALTOR!

We have problems with aircraft noise in some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Charlotte. Unfortunately the powers that be aren't taking peoples concerns seriously. It definitely has an impact.
