Welcome to the ongoing series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our 145th week!
Each week (more or less), some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:
to enjoy the ride"
"take a trip without even leaving the farm"
"expand your horizons"
"see through someone else's eyes"
and hopefully much more!
The routine of posting Tuesday Travelogue weekly has waned somewhat, my apologies. So, it is "periodic" virtual travel, rather than weekly. Doesn't save you anymore money, but hopefully leaves you wanting more!!
Random trips are the focus today. Hope that works for you!
One would think you are visiting some country estate in Europe, or a Parthenon knock-off, but this is The Hearst Castle. Joan Cox gives us a great tour of the place visually as well as a history of what took 28 years to construct.
A completely DIFFERENT viewpoint from CA is brought to us by Jeff Dowler. Terramar Beach here we come! (I chose the most unusual photo, of the bunch that Jeff offers, which felt like an abstract painting....some great variety in this post).
Many of us draw solace from water and I happened to have loved the way Joe Pryor explains what refueling and empowerment he always gets from the ocean trips he takes.
With my buddy, Dick Greenberg suffering from a self-designated MIA plan, I decided it was high time to bring back at least one of his off-the-grid vacations. This one was a trip to the Amazon, and afterwards he fell in love with a camera that the guide was using, the Canon SX50, which he talked up (and got as a Christmas present) and I ended up getting one, as well as a few others in our ActiveRain community. You're missed, Dick!
*And because I just couldn't get enough, I've included his very cool video of his Amazonian Journey.
Please don't forget to comment on these blog posts and I hope that you enjoyed all of these virtual travels.
