The sales of homes in master-planned communities surged in 2017 all over the country. The Las Vegas area has five communities that made the top 50 on the list of best selling master-plans.
In all areas of the nation 27,580 home were sold in a master-planned community – this figure reflects a 17 percent year-over-year increase from 2016 – reflecting around 4.5 percent of all new homes sold in 2017 across the country.
The master-planned community of Summerlin came in at number 5 out of 50 of top selling. Inspirada in Henderson came in at the 8th spot, Cadence, also in Henderson at 23, Mountains Edge in the southwest part of the valley at 41, and Skye Canyon in the northwest tied for 47th place. It is really wonderful that the Las Vegas area has so many communities that made the list.
This past year Summerlin added a few new villages and home developers are busy building neighborhoods with plenty of amenities for the residents. The area is a multi-generational community - with parks, trails, sports fields, golf courses, natural open areas and its own live, work, and play urban core in the heart of the community. Summerlin is home to more educational choices than any other part of Las Vegas. It is the only community in Southern Nevada with its own downtown – Downtown Summerlin – a retail, restaurant and entertainment destination.
Inspirada offers a wide variety of home neighborhoods. It is a walkable community and is designed around four amazing parks. The community focuses on outdoor activities, recreational sports, family playtime and meeting your neighbors. Each one is easy to walk, bike, blade, or skate to from within the Inspirada community.
Cadence is full of amenities as well as many different home neighborhoods to choose from. The 50-acre Central Park is perfect for walking and biking, and complete with free wifi so you can stay connected. For more outdoor fun there are the splash pads, pool, adventure park, and trails. There’s also a dog park and a free bike share program.
Mountains Edge has hundreds of acres of land have been devoted to open space, parks and trail systems offering endless opportunities for sports, fitness and recreation. The community offers many different styles of home in various neighborhoods.
Skye Canyon is a new, vibrant community with beautiful neighborhoods that brings indoor/outdoor living to life. The first phase—designed for families, couples and active adults—is located in the southwest section of the Skye Canyon master plan. Neighborhoods and parks are connected through dedicated bike lanes and walking paths.
