Come on down to the Southridge Rec center this afternoon for the Spirit Tasting’s second outing, an afternoon with Tiki Cocktails. Tike drinks are an art and a delicate balancing act between sweet and spice, between stiff and watered down. Taste that can go awry or south in a hurry. If you have even a passing interest in tike cocktails you will be welcoming to come by this went. Davidson’s will be co-hosting and sponsoring 7 events this year. Back in January as part of our Highlands Ranch property management local event series, we reported about a mid-winter hot cocktail event. These tike drinks will usher in spring and with the nice weather we have been having these tike drink recipes will go far. They are the perfect spring, summer or sunny day year-round drink.
Chris Motley will be giving a short presentation on all the rums and liquors and mixers in attendance as Weill as the brief history surrounding America’s longest running cocktail craze. Afterwards, everyone will embark on a trip to the Tike Palaces of old for classic cocktails, with stops at various rum-producing islands to sample their spirits. Enjoy drink samples, small bites and the Exotica sounds of Martin Denny, Les Baxter ad the Teriyaki Orchestra. Tickets are $30 at the door, and will be available until the tickets run out. It is today from 2:00 to 4:00pm and there are no children allowed. You can go straight to the front desk and they will direct you to where the event will be taking place.
