Zilker Metropolitan Park is referred to as “Austin’s most loved park!” It’s amazing that this 351-acre metropolitan park is the venue for so many iconic Austin celebrations! There is a variety of recreation opportunities, facilities and special events for individuals and families. If you look closely you'll see Handsome Hudson with his mom in the front seat!
The top places within the park to visit:
• Austin Nature & Science Center
If you want to take a 20-25 minute ride to see all that Zilker Park has to offer then jump on the Zilker Zephyr Express (miniature train) to leisurely take in all the sights around Zilker Park and Lady Bird Lake.
You’ll find the Zephyr right across from Barton Creek Pool. It runs from 10-5pm on Monday – Sunday. Keep in mind the train is not covered and they accept cash only. Thanks goodness an ATM machine is close by so remember your ATM card. Cost is $2.00 for children and $3.00 for adults. Children under 1 are free.
