A bone spur tore the rotator cuff!

I'm so sorry you had to endure this surgery..not fun but glad to hear you are recovering! Also glad to hear you had a surgeon who could take care of you and do a good job!

Ow, but glad to hear you are on the mend Sybil. I'm surprised that it didn't show up on the MRI but it goes to show that, even with modern science, nothing beats a pair of eyes. 

Oh, Sybil, I'm so sorry! There is nothing as painful as shoulder surgery but, thankfully, it's reparable and when the discomfort goes away, you're good as new!

Feel better and take care of yourself! The best old-nurse advice I can give you is to do every single thing your physical therapist tells you to do - without fail! Let my words ring in your ears during the recovery process because doing your PT as prescribed WORKS!!

Sybil, I am  so sorry to hear this,  I have been yelling at Diane for years, that her handbag is way too heavy... I wonder if that was the cause for you too?...Endre

Oh my goodness, and now I know the rest of the story. So sorry!  

Sybil, I am so sorry to hear this...I had surgery for an impingement bone spur on my right shoulder apx six years ago so know what you are going through. My ortho said it was huge, had probably been there for years and that it was caused by overuse and repetitive motion. The rotator cuff was not torn at that time and he warned me not to use the arm since surgery was scheduled six weeks out so I behaved and did not have to also have rotator cuff surgery.

The first week was the hardest, I don't like taking pain pills so lots of ice and the ortho had me start PT the day after surgery! PT works so don't skip a session and feel better fast!
