Twelve days into the New Year and I am already feeling like the year is going to be another one that flies right past us! I'm trying to wrap up things that I typically get done in a slower December but, last month was the busiest December I've ever had so, very little 'extra' tasks were accomplished. To add to that 'stress,' my email has been giving me a fit this week - important emails are landing in junk & trash and spam is filling my inbox. I'm beginning to think my email is totally confused this year!
Issues with the molasses that someone injected into the ActiveRain server, paled in comparison to my main website being down on Wednesday. We love technology and are so thankful for it when it's working like a top but, when it's not...
Thankfully all are back 'in working order' as we end the week - I think I can finally breathe a sigh of relief after a week of crazy technology issues!
One of my favorite past buyers (from 2012) was transferred to California and had to sell their fabulous Dilworth home. That Closed this week and was very bittersweet - I miss them living in the city already but, did get over list price for them and they made a ton of money after owning it for 6 years and having purchased during the tail end of the recession. So, they left the city with their heads held high and I couldn't be happier for them!
Due Diligence ended on one of my listings that was a bit of an uncertainty. The buyer purchased the home from me years ago and when they bought, they purchased it as-is and had much of the work done but, didn't want to have a pre-inspection to be sure that all was well before listing their home with me recently. Our buyers inspection process was quite extensive and we were happy to reach an agreement on a not-so-bad inspection report & repair request! #LifeIsGood
One of my lenders referred me a wonderful client, who I will tell the story later but, we have mutual family friends and it was such a pleasure working with this young man! He told me that he has several friends who have recently purchased property and they could not believe how 'easy' his transaction was! From winning the bidding war to negotiating repairs and purchasing personal items, a perfect appraisal and an early Closing (because the lender was amazing!), it could not have been a better transaction! So, it made me proud to have him tell his family and those at the table that today as well!
This was a week of continued healing and reminiscing about our lives with my father-in-law. My heart still breaks for his children who miss him terribly but, the 'fun' memories are surfacing and laughter at the family antics with Mr. Maxwell having been at the helm, is the perfect medicine for healing broken hearts.
I took my Duke to see the vet for his annual check-up and rabies vaccination this week. He pranced out with a clean bill of health and left everyone with big smiles - he's such a sweetheart and just makes you smile with his 'instant' tail wagging! I love my Dukie!
Thought for the Week...
Nothing needs to be added to this - we all know it's true!
Have a wonderful week ahead!
