2018 is going to be an interesting year for many reasons. I have been asked to merge with another inspection company and become the trainerand marketing manager, for a team of inspectors. 10 years of single man operation may be ending. It's not a done deal yet, but we're talking. But if it doesn't happen, my goals for my single man operation are still on the board. Last year was my best ever with over 530 inspections. My average inspection fee increased $15 and I implemented a new Simple Home Warranty program that will provide recurring income for life.
My three goals for this post are just part of 17 on my list. There are personal, business, and health goals. My goals always have really good reasons "why". I can't tell you what your "why" is, but just know that any goal worth working for, has to have a "why".
Goal 1. $200,000 sales revenue from inspections and mold testing. Why? Financial security, and since I turned 60 this past year, setting things up for the future seems more and more important.
Goal 2. Lose 25 pounds. Maybe it's the getting older, but it seems harder every year to maintain my normal 180 pound weight. Sticking to my vegetarian diet since my heart attack is not difficult, just not eating as much would be the key, and not eating after dinner snacks. Healthy or not, they are out as of January 1.
Goal 3. Since my wife and I have only been on one extended vacation since our honeymoon 36 years ago, I would like to treat her to a 2 week vacation out west, The Dakotas, Montana, Colorado. Drive until we want to stop, stay as long as we want to stay, see things we've only seen in pictures or tv. I haven't been west except on business since I was in Boy Scouts when I was 14 years old. She has never been west.
Some other goals are business related. Onsite report software, 3 phase inspection package to maximize add on revenue, increase average inspection fee $10.
Making a schedule and action steps are completed and now it's implementation time. Continued success to all the active rainers and hoping 2018 is your best year ever.
