It's Full Time Fun Being A Realtor

Being a Realtor is full time fun. While I do not claim to be 24/7 (anyone who does is a lier) I can tell you that on average I'm sure to put in at least 60 hours a week promoting and showing properties. The little video below shows you what I did with about 4 of my hours this Saturday. In addition to it I spent another couple of hours promoting listings in other ways.

Sorry about the sound quality but believe me it's greatly improved from when I started tinkering with this webcam.

Bob - - you've inspired me to try a video!!!! Yours is so nice, simple, easy to understand, and inviting - hope I can do one too - also, your link is perfect so obviously you've followed all the tips on AR!

Thank you Susan Jacobsen . I used to do a video a week but as some of my equipment has died or become hopelessly out dated I have been slow to patch things up and get it running again. Obviously I need to work on the quality a bit but I'm going for 1 a week or more once again even if the quality is only so so.

Thanks Lisa Von Domek it's a step above of what I was doing with the $1.00 rummage sale video camera I was using a couple of years ago.

Morning Bob.

I didn't notice anything wrong with the sound quality.  Seemed fine to me

Thanks James Dray . It took me a couple of microphone changes, and many setting changes to get it this good but the one thing I am/was missing  is called a "P Popper" which helps keep the "p's" from "popping" on the recording. A p popper can be as simple as a sponge type of sleeve over the end of the mic or a high tech piece of electronic equipment.

Hi there Bob, good job just doing it! The sound quality is pretty decent - you can also add an external mic to your computer if you want more depth. But honestly, it's not distracting at all...

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD interestingly enough I started out with an expensive mic and mixing system but I had such a bad hum I tried a 2nd mic, a USB karaoke mic but it too had a bad hum. The 3rd and final mic was a cheap Labtec mic that plugged into the mic jack on the front of the computer.

Yes, sometimes a really high end mic might pick up too much ambient noise...even vibrations on the surface of a desk, for example.  Sounds like the labtec is the way to go.  D

Hi Bob.   If only the general public did understand how much "behind the scenes" work is done in the real estate business... either directly or indirectly.  Getting the video process worked out was a great use of your time.  It seems to be working very well now.  Thanks for the post.

Thank you Carol Williams , I think it's a good idea to let the public know what a GOOD Real Estate agent does to get their home sold. I believe if they knew what a good agent does they would never consider trusting the job to a part time agent who gives them 8 hours a week of their time.
