Please Explain the Benefit of the Points on AR

I am new to the "Rain" and am finding a great deal of info as well as enjoying the blog. It's a great outlet for me and I'm learning a few things along the way. I understand the opportunity for potential clients to find me on a google search and read a blog I've written.

What I don't understand is why my AR point totals matter? I can probably find the answers on the site, but after blogging and surfing AR I never seem to have the time. Besides that, it's always nice to hear from fellow bloggers. I am sure I am opening up a can of worms with this one!

No worms just lots of fun! Points help position you in your local area & state as featured Realtors. If for example you search for a Florida Realtor the # 1 Featured Realtor will be Sharon Simms, If however you search for a Realtor in Marion County Florida you will find me as the # 1 featured Realtor...just a little prestige I guess. Everyone wants to be in the top 10 on Google searches and so we all want to be in top searches on localism or on Google too.

The points help you rise in the rankings of the Active Rain site. For instance, you're number one in your city... as am I in my city. I've actually had someone call me saying "I see you're the number one agent in Tempe". I told them that these are blogging points and tried to explain it... I don't know that I explained it well. In any event- we're in contract- set to close on May 27th. So... in this case points meant one extra contract.

Besides Kelly - your points have earned the number one spot in Sunriver .... so if a buyer is looking for sunriver on google.... chances are you will be the one they find.... that is why your points matter.... you are kicking Amy's butt
