Saturday night Bob and I decided to open a very good bottle of wine. That means over 50 dollars a bottle. Why? Well because there were a couple of people that we knew that lost children for various reasons, just resonated with us life is short enjoy it, but I digress.

The Prevail series of Ferrari Carano is one of our favorites. This has deep dark ruby color, the aromas are very deep dark rich berries with a hint of vanilla, on the mouth the taste is deep dark raspberries, with a hint of oak and spice. It went very well with our New York Strips and salad. It was a great meal. This is a great wine and has been well rated by Robert Parker who says it can be put down for 15 years.

I agree, life is tenuous and short.  A good red wine accompanied by good steak sounds like a good way to pass time.

I believe you have a career as a wine critic and get paid.  Your descriptions are some of the best and I can fully imagine how it would taste.

Sounds like a wine that is above my budget, my splurge usually means that I spend $20 on a bottle, haha.

Thanks for the recommendation. We always appreciate a great bottle of wine, and when we spend the money, it better be good. Ha.

Yolanda, this one sounds really nice, and should see if I can get it here.   Bought some Maestro from Mondavi and was $60/bottle, and was so smooth.  I bought a case, and every once in a while I break out a bottle to go with a great steak.

Yolanda, life is indeed short compared to the alternative so enjoy it and all it has to offer while you can!
