SPOTLIGHT on Palmetto Bluff-the ultimate Bluffton Community
If luxury can be thought of as privacy with accoutrements, Palmetto Bluff fulfills that idea. Not content to just be a development within the Town of Bluffton, Palmetto Bluff's vision should put to rest anyone's idea of a regular planned community.
Palmetto Bluff is planned to evolve into a vibrant settlement where a diverse group of people create their own legacy of living well – by connecting to themselves, their families and other people through self-discovery, sincere interactions with each other, close contact with nature, authentic roots in history and an openness to new ideas – while enjoying the best of classic Lowcountry traditions within a majestic, beautiful, stimulating and protected environment.
Note the terms within the statement- 'evolve in a vibrant settlement'- and 'self-discovery', 'sincere interactions', and 'protected environment.' That vision was written in 2001 and is applicable to this day. As soon as you turn off of Highway 46, and drive down Old Palmetto Bluff Road, you will arrive at The Greeter's entry - not the guard gate, or security gate - The Greeter's entry. You will be welcomed by a friendly but very professional person who will ask about your well-being, then ask how they may direct you to a location within Palmetto Bluff. If you're headed to the new spa within the new hotel, they will wish you well, if you are looking for the real estate office, they will express happiness that you are choosing one of the most beautiful places to live.
