Four homes recently sold in my Spokane neighborhood.
Nationally, home sales tumbled in December so I was happy and surprised to see the "SOLD" signs atop the "FOR SALE" signs in my neighborhood. Each of these homes has been occupied by the same owners for years and years so it looks like the neighborhood is starting to turn. The sellers are most likely opting for smaller homes, less maintenance and one level.
These well constructed houses were built for growing families, they are priced in the $300,000 range, and have three or more bedrooms. Nice homes at this price range can be difficult to find in Spokane and elsewhere due to limited inventory. The new owners will be thrilled with the space they have acquired, the schools and convenient location to shopping, restaurants and service providers.
There are many great neighborhoods in Spokane but I am partial to the South Hill with lots of trees and parks and just minutes from downtown. Too many empty houses in an area is not good so those sold signs are like gold.
