Carol Williams makes some excellent points in her blog - "Why Join ActiveRain?". Just the title alone got me interested. The very first sentence sealed the deal for me. - "Everyone you meet knows something you don't". This should have a gold star! Enjoy!

"Everyone you meet knows something you don't. Learn from them and share with them what you know."
The other day, there was a question in the Q&A about what we would say if we wanted to encourage a new agent to join ActiveRain. There are so many reasons. My answer at the time was:
"I would say you'll most likely get more support and a better education on ActiveRain than anywhere, including classes, books or your Designated Broker.
We love to share our knowledge and learn from each other. It's hard to find that within your own local association because of the competition factor. We don't hold anything back. You want to get an education in real estate and make some meaningful connections? This is the place."
ActiveRain has professionals from every aspect of the real estate industry, and it gives each of us a depth of knowledge most agents will never have access to. We have residential agents, commercial agents, appraisers, home builders, property managers, attorneys, mortgage professionals, stagers, inspectors, trainers, flooring people, technology experts, and many others. Did I miss any? With this vast array of industry pros, you can get a pretty darn good education from those in-the-trenches on a daily basis.
If you embrace and utilize the educational opportunity here on AR, you are going to find yourself moving ahead of your competition and leaving them in the dust. And, all of this educational opportunity is FREE just for joining. How many quality educational opportunities are FREE?
All that said, I wouldn't encourage anyone to join if they aren't going to actually participate. The benefits of consistent blogging and the knowledge and networking opportunities here are indisputable. However, don't bother if you're not going to jump in and grasp the opportunity to grow your business by learning from others AND sharing your knowledge and experiences too. It's a two-way street.
If you want your blogs to be indexed and found by the public, there is a paid version of membership. I recommend upgrading to the Rainmaker account. The annual fee is much less expensive than the monthly rate. The Rainmaker level also gives other agents the option to reblog your blogs, giving you more exposure and credit for the content you have written. Once you achieve the 500,000 point level you account becomes FREE again.
Whether you choose the FREE or paid version of membership, jump in and participate. I warn you, though. It is addictive.
