On this week's Ring in the Sales podcast episode, Sarah Richardson, the broker-owner of Tru Realty in Scottsdale, shares with us how you can build a real estate team that's tech-savvy, forward-thinking and innovative.

Chime:

Your brokerage really embraces technology from the start to the finish. Talk a little bit about that.

Sarah:

One reason why we chose Chime as our CRM is because of the large development team that they have on staff. We wanted to make sure it would help connect with our transaction management software, so that when a lead or contact gets uploaded into the CRM, all they have to do is hit an arrow or a push notification and all the contact information from that lead gets auto-populated into our transaction management software. So the agent doesn't have to spend the time uploading it, the transaction manager doesn't have to spend the time uploading that content, and it ultimately takes our overhead down, our overhead costs are low and less time on the agents so they can be more productive. So I think that technology is like a faucet: It helps make our life easier and it's quick to use.

Chime:

There's so many new technologies out there. For all the brokers and team owners here, how can they improve their adoption rate? What're you doing — what's your secret sauce?

Sarah:

Well, it just really comes down to educating. We talk about Chime at least once a month. All of our new agents are required to go through a one-hour training with our account rep, and then we invite any agents who may need a refresher course during that training — so we have one hour of training every single month, we're talking about it in our team meetings, and then most importantly, I do a lead conversion seminar with the agents, so anybody who's working leads in-house, we go over best practices, things to say, scripting, best follow-up practice, how to leverage video... And all of those are integrated through the back end of Chime, so that the agents can use the system better.
