Communication is Key

Communication is Key...

I have LONG recognized the value in good communicationAnd I have long observed how "bad" communication is often the sole root of poor outcomes (great material for future posts!).

I recently finished the book, The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins which gave me an "aha moment" to finally put my long-pondered thoughts and observations about communication sicinctly into place:

Silence Causes Distance.

That's it.  Period.

Whether it's at home, at work; during celebrations or in the midst of challenges; between friends or family; silence causes distance.  I'll spare you my reflections on communication within the personal realm.  I think we all can recognize the value of direct, human to human interactions where tone is defined and not inferred, and where body language is present and not speculated upon.

Since Real Estate is a "people business", communication plays a significant role that should not be underestimated.  I have seen too many transactions become compromised simply because of silence.  And that's why communication is my top priority.

When you work with me, you WILL hear from me

We will be in routine contact via a combination of email, phone call, and text (IF you are a "texter").

During your search for a new  home, you WILL receive timely updates on properties that meet your general criteria so that we don't miss "the one".

During the marketing period for your house, you WILL receive weekly updates regarding buyer activity in your market & showing feedback so that we can best assess how your property is connecting with the buyer market.

During the contract phase, you WILL receive weekly updates from me re: where we are on the pathway to closing and what to expect next.  And after closing, you WILL hear from me.  After all, I'm a relationship-driven agent.

You're not just a number on my desk.

You have choices when buying or selling what is often you're biggest asset.  If you'd like to KNOW what's happening during that process, you deserve to work with someone who is committed to active collaboration and communication.

Time to buy or sell?  Don't settle!

Good morning Brenda Mayette,

You are so right..lack of communication whether in business or personal relationships is the root of why they fall apart! Your clients are not just a number on your desk and that is what sets you apart from others!

Brenda,

We taught courses on communication in one of our incarnations.  And in real estate we wrote up reports for one of our biggest listings, and talked to the owners weekly  or more depending on the activity.  A

Brenda I so agree - Communication is key in creating and maintaining business. I was fortunate to have one of my degrees in communications and I learned from the best of the best.
