Annual Long Beach, NY Polar Bear Splash Happening on Super Bowl Morning

If you are ready to take off your sweater and jump in some cold water then you will definitely not want to miss the Polar Plunge that is coming to Long Beach, NY. It takes place on the morning of the Super Bowl! It is one of the biggest events for the city of Long Beach and all proceeds from the event go to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. Since the inception of this event, the city has raised more than $5.6 million for the foundation. If you are in town and not doing the plunge, however, be prepared as the roads in the city get very hard to travel and navigate due to the high amount of people coming into town for the event. If you are participating in the event, the city will be preparing shuttle buses for participants as well as onlookers. The buses will run to and from the beaches for you to jump on. There will be t-shirt giveaways at the event and fun for the entire family! The only big thing to remember is that there is no alcohol or pets that will be allowed on the beach! Otherwise, come out and have a great time and enjoy plunging into the cold water to support a great cause.

Hi Alex,  What a great event for such a fantastic cause.  I applaud those who do the polar plunge, but I don't think I could do it.  I hope you have a very successful event.
