Lenox Village is located in south Nashville on Nolensville Road. Designed as a New Urbanism community starting in 2002, the “Village” as some call it, offers a small town “Main Street” feeling with amenities. Not only does Lenox offer a variety of housing including single-detached homes, townhomes, condos or flats, and apartments, but also a wide variety of restaurants, boutique shops, and other small businesses.
In addition to the more than 1,060 homes, the neighborhood has several small park-like areas, miles of paved sidewalks, a playground, and a central park “Lenox Square” with a pavilion. The local shops are within walking distance of the residents for dining, shopping, and professional services. Lenox Village also hosts several events each year on the grassy square including Cinco de Mayo celebrations, movie nights and children events.
Architecture of Lenox Village
The beauty of Lenox Village is its architecture. The townhomes and detached single-family homes display an array of styles with a strong southern coastal charm. In addition to the early American style of Georgian, Federal, and Greek Revival, the appearance of two-story galleries, wraparound porches, and the famous Charleston side-porch homes are a common sight. The newest apartments have strong elements of Craftsman styling, and only a few of the houses are reminiscent of the early 20th century Bungalows.
Because of the low to mid-price points for homes, Lenox Village is a great area for Nashville new home buyers to concentrate. For this very same reason, it is a popular community for empty nesters wanting to downsize and retirees. And due to Lenox’s large number of homes, turnover is common.
