Everything You Wanted To Know About the Southpark Area of Charlotte!

Everything you wanted to know about Southpark!

South Park is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the southern region of Charlotte. South Park is named after the largest mall in North Carolina, South Park Mall. It measures about 1.8 million square feet. The general area was once part of a 3,000 acre farm, which was owned by NC Governor Cameron Morrison. Present day, it is now one of the largest business districts in and around Charlotte, hosting about 40,000 employees daily.

South Park Mall hosts the upscale shopping epicenter with names such as Kate Spade, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. If an outdoor shopping and dining experience is what you're seeking, you can also head over to Phillips Place, which is less than one mile away. They have outdoor stores such as Brooks Brothers, Restoration Hardware, Allen Edmonds, and Orvis. Also located in Phillips Place, there are delicious casual and fine dining restaurants in that area as well; you have options, so it is your choice!

To take in the city's culture and history, you should know that South Park is home to the Charlotte Symphony, The Nature Museum, Freedom Park, the 14,000 square foot Morrocroft Mansion, and the Duke Mansion. The area has developed and expanded, while also still further providing employment, fun things to do, as well as different dining and shopping experiences.

South Park is also known for being the central point of private schools. South Park features the Charlotte Country Day School, which is the first independent school and was founded in 1941. Charlotte Latin School offers twenty-one different advanced placement classes and has eight international sister schools. Academic Excellence is definitely a title that pervades the South Park neighborhood.

As plentiful as South Park's education, business, shopping, dining, and entertainment options are, housing in the area is readily available throughout. The main types of housing are typically modern, Victorian, historic, and renovated or remodeled home. Finding your place among the plethora of options, both living and working in South Park, is as possible as it is appealing.
