Travelers in the Rain - Sicily's Mount Etna

Reminiscing about our trip to Italy, I found a photo of the fuming mountain, Mount Etna, located just off of the Sicilian coast. Mount Etna is Europe's largest active volcano.

This majestic natural attraction was a popular tour with our group, some even hiking the craters. You can also reach the heights of the volcano via cable car.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

What a great picture. I have never been to that area of the world, but that is where my wife's family is from. Her Grandfather was the first to move to America.

Oh, that is definitely a place that you and your wife will have to go, JL. It's one of the most beautiful and intriguing places we've been and I'm sure for her, it will even mean more!

Debe I don't think I would feel comfortable to climb to the top of an active Volcano.

Debe, what beautiful memories. I think i would feel a little unsettling to walk along the edge of a crater especially knowing Etna is still active.

Hi Debe,
We loved Italy.  We spent time mostly in Rimini and Rome.  Can't say I'd want to get too close to an active volcano.

Debe Maxwell, CRS I'm glad you got to visit Italy. So many special moments in that country. I have been to Tuscany twice and loved it very much but haven't seen the Sicily side.

May you always have good memories and the opportunties to travel often. You're a good person and I enjoy connecting with you on ActiveRain.

Gorgeous shot, Debe. We get to live among the volcanoes here in the Northwest. Mount St. Helens is the most recent eruption...hope we don't have another for a long time. D
