This Friday, February 2nd is Ground Hog's Day. In case you didn't know, we celebrate it a little differently here in Michigan. Head on up to Howell, MI at the Howell Nature Center (or at least tune in as they air it live) while Woody the Woodchuck predicts an extended winter or an early spring for us Michiganders. Woody has been right 15 of the last 19 years and those odds are pretty good.
So how does it work? Woody gets placed into her hallowed out tree stump and either stays in or comes out. If she comes out, we get an early spring, but if she stays in her trunk, she has "spotted her shadow" and we're in for 6 more weeks of Michigan winter. The free event at Howell Nature Center comes with breakfast and a costume contest! If you can't make it to Howell, Groundhog's Day with Bill Murray will be playing at Celebration Cinema at both the Woodland Mall and Plaza 1&2 locations.
