Thinking About Selling Your Home? It's time to think about curb appeal and the first impression of your home. I always suggest to my sellers to have a friend or neighbor tour their home to see it from a potential buyer's perspective.
- Curb appeal, curb appeal, curb appeal! If a potential buyer drives by your home and the curb appeal is not appealing, they will not schedule an appointment to see your home.
- Air out your home. Get rid of any pet odors, smoke odors, cooking odors, any odor and don't try to mask them with an air freshener.
- Make sure all closets and garage are organized. Maximize your space if you have a small closet or garage.Clean & organize kitchen cabinets.
- Stage a grand entry into your home. The first impression is the lasting impression! Have the entrance well lit and all lights on inside your home.
- Leave information out on your kitchen counter for the showing agent. Keep in mind, it's this agent's first time inside your home. If they don't have enough information available about your home, how do you expect them to sell it? I suggest leaving a fact sheet about any special features or additions you have made as the current owner. Share what you like most about your home, the neighborhood and the area.
