Time Certainly Does Fly…
Ten years ago today I joined this thing called ActiveRain.
No one referred me. There was no mentor telling me to blog. While I was starting my business, I researched all kinds of websites from Home Stagers. My journey also took me to the sites of several agents.
At the bottom of some of the websites, I saw a logo.
What the heck was ActiveRain?
After heading over to the site, I started reading. And reading and reading more.
There was so much to read...so much to learn...so many different points of view. And so many different personalities!
I was hooked!
Granted, I lurked for a long while and began posting just a little bit at a time. But then Bob Stewart had these back to back challenges, then someone else had one of those 30 posts in 30 days challenges.
My quest to post every day is now a personal challenge.
So after 10 years, this is what I learned to help you navigate your way around this community and enjoy your time here.
Get involved
How much you get out of this community is very much related to what you put into it. Read as many posts as your time allows.
Make meaningful comments...not “drive-by” ones that say “Nice post. Thank you for sharing this.”
Put yourself out there.
By that I mean, if you haven’t already started blogging, get started. If you need a little nudge, contact me or any of the ActiveRain Ambassadors, or really most anyone else here!
And let us see who you are by writing in your own voice.
Pick up the phone
If you’re of a mind, pick up the phone and say “hello” to another member. If you’re traveling, schedule a MeetUp with another member, even if just to meet over a cup of coffee.
After 10 years, I still love learning from all of you...
Learning about Trivia that it seems I should know but don’t…
Learning the importance of branding, or what a Mighty Mo is.
Learning how to market like I mean it, or about the many people who made a difference.
I’ve learned that people can hold dual careers and do it well, and to always have my camera with me.
Thank you for making me want to continue to come back here every day and learn something new.
