Winners Refuse to Quit

When I read the title, I thought of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and the many athletes who will be competing in the Winter Olympics. Winners go through many of the hardships that others do, but one thing they have is that they refuse to quit. They keep going.

Winners Refuse to Quit

“I do not fear failure. I only fear the slowing up of the

engine inside of me which is pounding, saying keep

going, someone must be on top, why not you?”

General George S. Patton 1885 – 1945, United States Army

As I see it . . . . . . .

Winners refuse to quit

The margin of victory can be measured by a very thin slice of difference. Victory or success can be measured in inches, or by faction of seconds.

The winners in life are just . . . . . as worn-out or exhausted as are the other people that they’re competing with. The difference is that winners refuse to quit . . . . and when their exhausted they reach deep down into the inner strength of their will. Winners keep going . . . . and give it a little bit extra to get them across the finish line and into the winner’s circle of life.

When you run into an obstacle believe that you can successful get through it.  Keep going and make every effort to successful to come up with a solution and to navigate the condition.

An obstacle may knock you down or delay your success journey. An obstacle is a temporary condition unless you allow the obstacle to take control of your life and take root in your thinking.

When the mind and body is exhausted keep going . . . . and as you do you will be making an extra effort and in that extra comes the breakthrough to achieve your goals and reach your objectives.

Winners refuse to quit . . . . and they got what has to be done successfully.

Good quote, Kathy!  Winners are willing to try again.  They may alter their course a bit - but they try again.

Winners are the competitors who probably have had the most obstacles. The difference is their mindset is they will not be stopped by the obstacles.

I think that's why I so dislike this "participation trophy" thinking. I experienced this is the corporate world by a manager. I included the team in participating in idea generating for a presentation to my peers in the industry. The manager awarded each team member with a gift card, but I created the white paper AND gave the presentation. The team then felt that every time they contributed an idea, they should be rewarded, even though they didn't do the work. This NEVER left my mind!
