The annual COPA (Cirrus Owners & Pilots Association) Migration is the most-attended event of the year for those who own and operate Cirrus aircraft.
This year's Migration "Fly-in" will be held in Duluth, Minnesota at the Duluth airport. And best of all, you don't have to be a Cirrus owner to attend!
The event will feature factory tours, seminars with featured speakers and trade show exhibits. For pilots who register early, there will be free "rust removal" flights (space available on a first come, first served basis). This program pairs Cirrus instructors with pilots and provides the opportunity to practice takeoffs, landings, stalls, IFR techniques and just about anything else a pilot may wish to brush up on! And for non-fliers, there will be seminars on video presentations on exotic destinations visited by Cirrus owners.
The annual Migration tends to attract Cirrus aircraft owners from all over the world (including more than a few celebrity owners). You'll meet interesting people at the COPA social events, including the opening COPA Cabana party at the delightful Inn on Lake Superior on July 10 and the Friday night Social at the Great Lakes Aquarium. There will also be a closing night banquet at the DECC (Duluth Entertainment & Convention Center).
Special lodging rates have been arranged for attendees at Fitger's Inn and the Canal Park Lodge in Duluth. While you're in town, take in a concert event at the DECC, visit the Duluth Railroad Museum or have dinner at Midi Restaurant in Fitger's lower level. You may even want to set aside a day or two for the trip east to Madeline Island and Bayfield, Wisconsin!
