Simplicity.
Keeping your home simple makes it a pleasure to come home to. Simple things like a pretty print that reminds you of a valued vacation. A pillow that reminds you to smile. Photographs of your favorite people. When selling your home, a stager will instruct you to de-clutter. They will suggest you hide what makes your house a home to you. I agree with many things that stagers suggest but I do not ever recommend stripping the home of what makes it feel happy. Simplicity is happiness in it's purest form. Too much of anything looks cluttered. Some things that make you smile sprinkled throughout your home gives it personality and allows a buyer to feel happy while there.
Simple muted colors on the walls and flooring.
Simple and plain furniture with a few colors thrown in with pillows. A room that invites a buyer to sit and feel your home. I often sit with buyers in a seller's family room. Giving a buyer a chance to feel what makes your home a happy one.
A few happy photographs. A buyer can picture themselves smiling in this house.
Beds neatly made.
