The ActiveRain Meet-up at CRS Sellabration in Dallas 2018
CRSs and ActiveRain members from around the country gathered on Monday evening, February 5 in Dallas.
The festivities started around 5 pm at the Silver Bar at the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel in Grapevine, near Dallas, and what a fun time it was.
Meet-ups are always a great time but it’s even more fun when there are fellow Rainers from around the country attending, in addition to those living locally, in this case Dallas.

Lorrie Semler, Silvia Dukes, Craig Kaplan (not pictured - Joanne Fraser, AJ Heidman, Carrie Weikert)
Randy Prothero , a CRS and long-time Rainer, traveled the farthest for this meet-up, hailing from Honolulu HI.
Texas attendees included our host, Lisa Von Domek (Dallas) a CRS, Patricia Feager (Flower Mound), Sharon Parisi (Addison) and Lorrie Semler, REALTOR® in the Dallas area. Call/text 972-416-3417 (Dallas) who is also a CRS, and @Carrie Weikert (from Austin), a CRS, joined us later in the evening.
Craig Kaplan, a new CRS last year who I met in DC at the CRS meetings came from New York; Debe Maxwell, CRS and AR member is from Charlotte NC; AJ Heidmann , CRS and AR member, is from Alexandria VA; Silvia Dukes PA, Broker Associate, CRS, CIPS, SRES and Christel Silver , both CRSs and AR members, are from Florida; Joanne Fraser is a CRS from Northern California in the Silicon Valley.
Lots of people were meeting in person for the first time, which made it even better. Just think of the great referral network that grew that night. And it was fun to discover that many people came from other parts of the country prior to landing where they now live - several have roots in Chicago, for example.
Some people came and went due to other obligations, but the discussion was lively, covering all sorts of topics – family, clients, AR, CRS, vacations, business issues, food, to name a few, plus lots of joking around and plenty of laughter. The meet-up lasted for quite a while, and while some had to leave after a few hours, the last of the group did not disband until after 10!
Traveling to real estate events, or just on vacation, is a great way to meet your fellow AR friends. Just ring 'em up and plan a time to get together. Next stop for me will be at NAR/CRS in DC in May, and we are planning another meetup at NAR in Boston in November!!
