Today, YouTube Thursdays looks for some inspiration to help those of you who are working on an Introductory, or About Me, video.
Here's some tough love before we continue today. If you aren't going to utilize the basic principles to produce a good video - the right equipment - a storyboard - good lighting - and basic editing, it's probably best to hire a professional. You might be surprised at how affordable it is too. The ROI should be pretty high, considering how many ways you'll be able to use the video. Those of you who work in an office with multiple agents might want to suggest hiring a videographer to mass produce introductory videos for the agents.
Okay, now that that messy business is out of the way, let's move on. We're going to assume, at this point, you are committed to produce your own Introductory Video. That's great! Here are a few examples to inspire you and get the creative juices flowing.
We can't stress enough, the importance of being authentic. It's the way to win the DIY video game. If you're a goof ball, be a goof ball. Active Rain member Karen Sanchez has a unique style, and she owns it. I find her likable and approachable.
Here's one that had us laughing out loud. Sure, a few of the lines sound a bit canned, so what? Once you get into the fun of this one, it's quite entertaining...
And finally, while we can both be goofballs, it's not our main shtick. We hoped to tap into emotional connections when we created this MultiGen "About Us" video a few years ago. This video literally tells a true story - about us. ( Notice: for those of you afraid to talk "on camera," we didn't in this one. Most of the audio is a voiceover.)
