How To Overcome Blogger's Block!

Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants

As a luxury  or any other real estate marketing professional, consistently adding fresh, new, original content to your website by blogging is good for your ranking in Google.  More importantly, it can help expand your sphere of influence.

If you are writing original content that is buzz-worthy, share-worthy, newsworthy and follow-worthy. But, how do the best bloggers avoid getting stale?  How do they prevent Bloggers Block?

The antidote to Bloggers Block can be summed up in this way: BE CURIOUS!  When you are passionate about your subject matter, you naturally become interested and open to new, fresh information that others do not even bother to perceive. You become a magnet for news!

One of our favorite pastimes is strolling along the beach in Santa Barbara.  We discovered early on that the beach is never the same from day to day.  The tides continuously change. They bring new creatures and sea treasures to our attention every time. The people are new. Even their dogs are new.  We have learned about so many breeds of dogs that we did not know existed.

Recently, we passed by a couple of young girls who were squealing about some discovered treasure that was clinging to the base of a garland of kelp. It was a bunch of sea urchins.

We had not seen one up close before that day. Yet, sea urchins are known as “Santa Barbara gold” because they grow in great abundance right off our coast where they are harvested, then exported to far off places like Japan.

Had those girls not been so excited we probably would have passed that kelp plant right by.  Instead, we were enriched by their discovery and our research on the subject.

So focus on something new, get outside.  Remember the antidote to writer's/blogger's block is BE CURIOUS!

ABOUT:  Luxury Real Estate is a high stakes game. Commissions are substantial! We help luxury real estate professionals get to the listing table more often and win listings more frequently.  If you want to be the market leader, the personal or company brand that your target market thinks of first and refers most often, you need an Elevator Statement to accelerate the process.  We can get you there!

Your Elevator Statement is a succinct and persuasive summary of your extraordinary promise of value, your unique selling proposition.  In a time-starved world the attention span of your target market is shrinking.  To instantly convey what sets you apart from the crowd you need to be able to answer EACH ONE of these 3 questions in less than 30 seconds.: 1) What Do You Do?; 2)  How Do You Do It?, and;  3) How Are You Different?.  Can you state how you are different and better than your competition in less than 30 seconds?

Watch the video above to see and hear how we do it.

I sometimes struggle with writer's block. Then I think about past transactions or conversations we have in the office. This is often, and lately has been, the resource for my blog topics.

BTW...I have eaten sea urchin. I don't recommend it. There's better sushi out there.

Great point! Curious is looking at the subject with a new perspective. Today I was reading some new studies on blogging by Jeff Goins and how to think more about your blog from the position of your intended audience. Being curious about your blog's impact, curious about your targeted market, and curious about your blogs' stated problems and answers you present to readers with the intentions of creating a following will only make you a better blogger.

Debbie Laity My father used to dive for urchins in the Mediterranean.  I liked them as a child, and not long ago ordered one at our favorite Sushi place.  It was OK, and I would not order it again.  A

Step away from the computer, Debb. I would sum up the last few weeks as being chained to my desk, I'm going to make sure to add time away to my daily list. Taking time to connect to people, nature, and the world with a curious mind does spark creativity - and adds to our joy level. Wonderful post. D
