All right Mr Moderator, you win!! Recently I have had several of my posts pulled on Baseball talk 101 because they were lacking......to say the least in baseball content. So I have only baseball content for this post. (for the most part anyway)

Are you a little fed up with these touted phenom wonder arms racking in the cash from Japan, only to belly flop when they get here. I am speaking of the Dodgers Hideki Kuroda, if memory serves correctly they paid him like 45 million for a couple, three years or such, and so far, aside from an opening day win he has been as flat as a pancake.

Now I bet you guys in Boston are shaking your heads saying yep last year we had "Dice-K" (didn't really follow Boston, however I didn't here great things about him latter in the season either). Do you think all those pitchers from Japan think they are Hideo Nomo. Please don't misunderstand me, I am not saying I don't want to see any more players from Japan come over here and try to compete. I just don't want to keep flippin the bill that these owners keep paying these guys.

Kinda sort-a reminds me of a few of my collegues grumbling about taking out some of these buyers these days that just don't make the grade either, wasting there gas. Just goes to show you, you never know who is going to come up big in the clutch. Oh yeah his name is Blake Dewitt, rookie third baseman for the Dodgers. As of tonight he is 6-6 with 12 RBI's with the bases loaded. Not bad for a guy playing double A ball last year.

Oh well I guess such is life in the big leagues.

Looking for a long ball in the ninth, down by one and a man on first with two out.

Yeah! alright an update on the Dodgers pitcher Hideki Kuroda. I finally got his second win tonight.(May 21) I knew if I wrote something a little negative about him he would come around. Now I need to come up with something for Lowe and Penny. They have really stunk up the park in each of there last few outings.

Congratulations. You passed muster in my book! It was interesting to review. You certainly spoke about the game a good bit, but I only saw the word baseball in the first paragraph.

First we give all the technology to the very people who murdered US men and women on a Sunday Morning and now we pay just average player from Japan the big money. It is no wonder why the world laughs at us.

I am a big baseball and of course a Red Sox fan! Dice K has been pretty inconsistant thats for sure. He seems to be getting better though. Given the salary he is making he better keep improving!!!

Greg: Not sure what to make of your comment. I personally don't have any thing against these guys. As I said, it is the owners that offer them the big bucks. I love to see other countries come over here and compete. I love the game and if there is a guy from abroad that has talent, I certainly would love to watch what he can do.

Alpine Lakes: I saw that what a great story the comes back after battling cancer. That is awesome!!

Bill: Lets hope he does keep improving.

TLW: Thanks for making the long trip. I hope that you weren't to disapointed.

Duane: These days I am not sure if owners are using Monopoly money. They just don't seem to ever run out.

I really enjoy that baseball is able to play a part in spreading American goodwill and culture around the world. I welcome all who can play the game to play to the best of their ability. There certainly does seem to be a disconnect with how some players perform once they make it to the big leagues versus how they played in another league!

Rob, the moderator only does what he is suppose to. Baseball talk 101 was designed for just that: A baseball forum. So, when we read post that have very little to do with the game, then we delete them. In the case of this post, it is right on target and I give it a thumbs up.

GREAT post, Rob...and it actually had something about baseball for a change, haha!

Few and far between are the pitchers that actually come up and stick as great, consitent pitchers...for every mussina and maddux there's a thousand prospects that fizzle. The guys from Japan have done a pretty nice job in my opinion, Dice K's an AL leading 8-0 with a 2.40 ERA this season to date.

Jim: I have not really followed Boston this season. However I am glad that he rebounded from last year and is contributing in a big way this year.
