Sometimes in Santa Fe when the sun rises in the East, mother nature adds a gift of color to the sky in the West. Here is what happened this morning when I went out to get the paper. Yes, looking up and looking WEST of Santa Fe towards the Jemez Mountains!
One of habits my Dad taught me when I was growing up was to look up. In part, I think it was to make sure I knew where I was going. I grew up in Connecticut in a small city and then an even smaller town. In both places, lots of buildings and trees got in the way of seeing the sky forever. Back in those days, I only really saw a forever sky was when I went to the beach. All that changed when I moved to Santa Fe decades ago. Now the sunrise is part of my life. Frankly, I think it extends it because it is a great source of positive feelings and inspiration ah-ha's. Perhaps it is a miracle made in heaven when the morning sunrise sky appears even when I look to the West.
By the way, if you are curious, this is what happened when I looked East.
Nothing like a double sunrise! Your take?
