Santa Fe Real Estate: It Does Snow In Santa Fe

Real Estate Broker/Owner with eXp Realty LLC NM Broker License 16161

It does snow in Santa Fe is the answer I frequently give to buyers seeking to relocate to the Southwest. This is often a surprise to people in the northeast who dream of never shoveling snow again. However, Santa Feans know snow is a blessing of water from Mother Nature. And an opportunity to see our adobe walls differently. Here is what I discovered this morning just before sunrise.

And the rest of the story is our nearly 365 days of sunshine often melt the snow quickly. There is no need to bring your snowblower when you relocate to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Kristin Johnston - REALTOR® I understand how you feel! I grew up in Connecticut. Then relocated here from Washington DC a few decades ago. Now I have the sun helping with snow removal...

You got it! And when I do I can always fly east to New England or Chicago in the winter to remind me. However, Barbara Todaro  IMHO we could use more snow this winter as my lilacs were sprouting buds already due to our mild winter.

Emily, we got about 5" yesterday and is expected to be only 42 today.   We still need a snow blower here.   The daffodils were popping up a couple days ago.

Our dirt roads and/or gravel driveways will kill a snowblower in seconds. Joan Cox fortunately spring follows winter even in Denver.

That has to be a fascinating sight, Emily.  I remember visiting the Grand Canyon in April 1963, and seeing snow there.  It added accent to the rocks and mountains, and made the place seem even more beautiful than I had remembered.
