Inclement Weather Policy for 2018
Clarksville Montgomery County School System responds to serious weather conditions by staying on the safe side and closing schools. There are some weather days tucked into the school year calendar but when those days are exhausted then holidays and school in-service days are taken away. Even extending the school day by 30 minutes a day is one of the measures used to make up the missed classroom time. Students will not get the President's Day Holiday due to school closing during the snow.
Parents are notified when school closings, delays or early closings are necessary. Other emergency type situations also receive notification through an automated phone calling system. Parents may also receive email notifications if an email address is provide on the emergency records. Check the procedures for notifications the school system has in place. The word is given to local radio stations and area TV channels for school closing announcements. Alternate school bus routes may be used if it is deemed to be safer. See the policy for inclement weather routes here.
We are looking at make-up days for the days the several days the schools were closed in January due to snow. Check to see the post and schedule for making up the missed days. Students will be attending school on February 19, President's Day for a make up day.
Clarksville Montgomery County School System is one of the best school systems in the State of Tennessee and makes it another major reason of quality of life in Clarksville TN.
