The buyers were out in droves in Venice, CA not just in the 90291 but in the 90294 zip codes..... This Sunday was such a great day to look at homes.
My clients were running a bit late it made me wonder....When waiting for clients, who happen to be running late for a showing, what do you do? Do you read a book? Do you check your emails? Do you call and harass your clients with: where are you? How close are you and words to that effect? Are you anxiously or should I say stressfuly waiting?
Here, in Los Angeles thanks to our traffic situation, on more than one occasion clients arrive late. It is a fact of life in conducting business here. Some agents huff and puff, others go with the flow. I just smile and try to take in the surroundings.
I always carry a book with me, but there are times you just cannot read, because the car is parked three streets away and the home you plan on showing is in the walk streets of Venice, CA to name a specific location. Hence in situations like that, I usually end up chatting with the nearby neighbors or just patiently observer the neighborhood. That way, I might be able to share some trivia with my buyers to give them a better perspective of the neighborhood.
I have learned early in my career, that it is better to chill, since there is nothing you can do anyway but wait, since the clients are more stressed, because they feel bad that they are running late, so why add more stress to their already stressed situation? I might as well diffuse the situation, since I want them to be in optimal buying mode, rather than stress mode.
Today we had a beautiful Sunday, the sunshine was just creating an ideal afternoon to look at homes. It was not too cold and not too hot. It was truly a perfect day to look at the homes. The buyers were out in full force. Just on a side note, in my experience Sundays are usually more trafficked due to the Public Open Houses.
My clients were wondering why there was so much activity? There were quite a few reasons, one was the fact that there were more listings available to see. Then to boot, the interest rates have increased a bit, hence many of the buyers who were sitting on the fence have decided that it was time to buy. In addition, when the weather is perfect it even brings out the “looky loos”
