When Marketing In This Sellers' Market One May Feel Robotic
Barbara Todaro knows her marketing.
What she does which sets her above her competitors in her market is work every day full time in marketing.
When agents are solo they don't and won't take the time to do online and offline marketing correctly and most of them will not invest the money into their business in order to have the same success as Barbara is having.
She sets her team apart because she is willing to pay more for customer aquisition in time and money than her competitors.
There is an important lesson to be learned here.
You can read the comments on her blog page to see the back and forth with some SEO guys. The same thing happened to me when I was marketing on line for short sales back in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
But I will save that post for another day.
Right now I wanted to give Barbara Todaro kudos for all she is doing right!
Do you run a Google search every week to see where you stand in relation to others who may be using similar or the same keyword phrases as you? We’re listing agents, and I do those searches.
I don’t write 3,000 word blog posts, but I have 7 of 10 titles on the first page of the SERP for Free Market Analysis in Franklin MA and everything above the fold for Free Market Analysis in Marlborough MA. The competition online in my area, for the keywords I use, is almost non-existent.
In Franklin, my consistent posting has pushed one agent to the back of the bus, and he previously had 3 on the first page. No longer!!!
Consistent participation online and offline is what directs business our way. We have listings, and more are coming. I’m online every day on 6 separate sites, and offline I mail 10,000 postcards every month. I don’t expect anyone else will be competing with those offline mailing numbers. It’s risky business in this tough market, if you are not already branded.
All one can do in this extreme sellers’ market is to continue to work every day. There are days when I feel like a robot. The routine is carved in stone, and I don’t miss a beat.
It’s called commitment and good work ethic. My routine begins every day with a heavy workout at the YMCA in Franklin MA. When I don’t start my day with a workout, it’s a void that creates havoc within my mind because it’s always part of my thought process. The same would result if I didn’t post every day….pure havoc.
Routines are an important part of how I work and stay healthy. I have personal time set aside on certain days every week, and that keeps me sane, so I can continue to work consistently.
We will successfully ride out this storm, but many will not. Money runs out quickly and eventually the dead weight in our industry will fall to the wayside. I’ve seen this happen many times in the past, and we all know history repeats itself in the real estate business.
Survivors, hang in there…. Better days are coming….In a few years!
